Dear Mr. & Mrs Baker.

I viewed the T.V.programme and found it both interesting and of course quite horrifying. I know these cowboys are about and have been lucky to have avoided them. Regrettably all my windows and doors have been installed otherwise I would be your next customer. I know the name Eddy Baker was mentioned but I think it was a pity that the name of your company was not given. I suppose it was because it was the BBC who do not advertise. Best of luck and I hope you get plenty of enquiries for fittings to be done.

Yours sincerely,

Alfred Mitchell.

Dear Eddy and Wendy Baker,

Saw Eddy on telly. Well done for all your hard work!

My conservatory still looks as good as it did when it was first constructed 12 years ago.

best wishes,

Gillian Rowland

Hi Eddy and Wendy

Thank you for your letter received recently regarding the above programme. I watched it and was really pleased to see how the young couple were helped out eventually after the awful workmanship of the original company. I hate to hear that vulnerable people have been conned. Our 2 daughters (Sarah and Kate) have recently bought their first homes and they could easily have been in similar situations to Caroline and Sean. Eddie looks younger every time I see him!!

We have always been pleased with the work you’ve done for us over the years and we have regularly recommended you to other people. What we particularly liked was the pricing – not cheap but you always knew where you stood and there was no pushy sales person trying to get you to order by a certain time ‘to qualify’ for a discount. Another sign of trust in a company is their ‘after sales service’ – when little repairs have been needed, you have provided the service without hesitation.

With best wishes to you both and hope to catch up sometime.

Wendy Balaam xx

Dear Eddy and Wendy,

As we were out yesterday morning we taped ‘The Cowboy Trap’ and watched it when we got home. It really was a horror story how those youngsters had to live through a winter bunging up all the gaps around the ill-fitted windows with newspaper.

You came across very well on the TV Eddy, and I couldn’t believe how complicated those new windows were. We think our conservatory windows are quite clever with their downwards and sideways opening, but
the ones on TV were amazing and beautifully done, as are ours, of course!

Lets hope it got over the message to viewers how it pays off to get references and have a look at work already completed, as I remember you suggesting when we had a look at the Mannings’ conservatory, down the road from us, before you started ours.

Wishing you a great year ahead and lots of work through these lean times. We are thinking of making a long thought of move nearer town, in the very near future.

Best Wishes

John & Jo Robson

Sean and Caroline

We recently told the story of the nightmare experienced by Caroline Palmer and Sean Marten when they had their first window installation at their home in Mildmay Road Chelmsford. This was undertaken by a double glazing company who left them with a substandard job by failing to use safety glass and appeared to use nothing but sealing foam to hold them in place.

It was seen by Alan Burgess of Masterframe Windows and Eddy Baker of Bygone Installations (Essex) Ltd who provided and fitted new sash windows for the couple.

A team from BBC Scotland filmed the work for a show called Cowboy Trap. This will be shown on the BBC on Thursday 21st October at 11.00am.

The new replacement sash windows installed at the home of Mr Marten and Miss Palmer are called “The Bygone Collection”. They are manufactured by Masterframe Windows and installed by Bygone Installations (Essex) Ltd.

Masterframe will only provide these windows to a small number of select companies known as their Preferred Installers and states the following:

“Choosing the right installer is as important as selecting the right windows in the first place. Having worked closely with Eddy & Wendy Baker for over ten years, we are pleased to be able to recommend Bygone Installations Essex as Preferred Installers of The Bygone Collection of sash windows.

The Bygone Collection stands for the very best in sash windows.

This commitment to excellence also extends to our network of Bygone Preferred Installers. They’re carefully selected and trained to NVQ standard.

You can be certain that they will carry out a professional installation, they care about your home and how your property will look once the work is complete, and will provide you with the right solution.

As the manufacturer we guarantee that Bygone Collection of sash windows will be installed to your complete satisfaction. This double guarantee is only available via authorised bygone preferred installers, so please do check any company who claims this status on www.bygonecollection.co.uk”

Dear Alan and Eddie,

As you are aware, the last 12 months have been both emotionally draining and stressful. We cannot express enough how grateful we are for your support and assistance during the last few weeks and Alan in addition, you help and advice over the year trying to achieve justice against the Double Glazing Shop Ltd.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you both for agreeing to contribute to the filming for the BBC’s programme Cowboy Trap and for supplying, for free, the windows for the makeover.

The Masterframe windows are far better than we ever could have imagined, the high quality and style of them have put back the character into our property. It truly is amazing how a few windows can change the feel of the house.

There really was only a short window in which to manufacture and fit the windows, Eddie and his team have worked long and hard to get everything completed within the time frame, we wanted you to know how much we really appreciate it. It all looks fantastic.

Once again, thank you both for your help and support, and we will of course be happy to recommend Masterframe windows and Bygone Installations should anyone ask.

Kindest regards,

Sean Marten and Caroline Palmer

Bygone Installations,

I would like to say how pleased I am with the installation of double glazing at my home.

The work was carried out in a very professional manner and completed to a very high standard.

I would recommend your company to other potential buyers, and indeed and already done so to one of my neighbours.

Thank you for all you did.
Regards,

Arthur Moody

Dear Mrs Baker,

A little while back you asked if I would write a letter of commendation for works carried out for me and I am pleased to do this. I am very pleased with the quality of the installation – the front of the house with the new outer porch door and guttering, fascia and soffit looks excellent and the back of the house again with new outer porch door guttering, fascia and soffit looks ideal. The new patio door on the lounge completes the look of the house.

I was also pleased with the care and attention that was taken, especially with some of the more intricate parts of the work, which was far greater than previous installations that I have been involved with. The housing surrounds were kept as tidy as possible in the snowy weather at all times. I also appreciated the willingness to undertake minor pieces of work alongside the main installation and the fitting of new handles on existing windows saved me the problem of engaging another company.

I would be quite happy for Bygones Installations (Essex) Ltd to undertake more work for me.

Yours sincerely,

Geoffrey Page
